Faithful Stewardship - Debt-free Living

We live in a world that has become so reliant on debt, that our whole economy is dependent on it.  As a result, many people are experiencing financial challenges.  Just because the world revolves around borrowed money, doesn’t mean we must do the same.  The financial practices of most people are in sharp contrast with the principles of the scripture.  Fortunately, the Bible has the answers to any financial difficulty we may face.  This message will share practical tips for living debt free.

  • As a Steward of the Gospel, would you like to get out of debt?

  • Do you have a GOOD plan?  By that I mean a Get Out Of Debt Plan.

As we take a look at our context of scripture, we find four things about this widow.

a. The widow’s SITUATION (vs. 1-2)
b. The widow’s INSTRUCTION (vs. 3-4)
c. The widow’s SUBMISSION (vs. 5)
d. The widow’s COMPENSATION (vs. 6-7)

Let’s look at some practical tips for living debt free

1.  Take the INITIATIVE to change your financial situation.  v. 1

Assignment:

  • Write down some ways you can take the initiative to get out of debt.

2.  Be HONEST about your financial situation.  v.2
